the problem
The existing pedagogies of English learning in India necessitates the need for English speaking teachers in classrooms.
However, most government school teachers in rural India have not been trained effectively in English.
As a result, even the most passionate and hardworking teachers are limited to teaching only the basics such as alphabets
and vocabulary, which does not adequately equip students to navigate the complex English language requirement in advanced grades.
The learning gap widens as students reach higher education, where many professional courses in fields such as
Engineering, Finance, Medicine, and Technology are offered only in English. Unable to cope with the language barrier,
students are forced to either drop out or choose subjects which are available in regional languages,
further limiting their access to education and employment opportunities.
