The Teacher Entrepreneur Project is a rural distributed call center operated in Alwar (Rajasthan) and Bihar where
young educated women work as part-time callers, and run English tuition centers in their communities-
fulfilling the dual agenda of securing financial stability and improving the English learning capabilities of students.
Educated rural youth are onboarded as LeapForWord’s Teacher Support Team receiving a monthly honorarium while they offer
part-time English tuitions to students for a nominal fee. This fosters community accountability and empowers community members,
simultaneously reaching our larger goal of strengthening English Literacy in rural India.
We currently have 153 TEs who are actively using ELP to run their own tuition centers within their communities.
